Here’s what’s new for the author of Metal Detecting for Beginners: 101 Things I Wish I’d Known When I Started, and author M.A. Shafer.
October, 2017 – Metal Detecting for Beginners: 101 Things I Wish I’d Known When I Started author M.A. Shafer staffed the American Digger magazine table at this year’s Gettysburg Civil War & Militaria Show. There, she represented the magazine, for which she is a regular editorial contributor and serves as Marketing Assistant, as well as selling and signing copies of her books. She also spoke briefly about her book to a packed house at the annual meeting of the Federation of Metal Detector & Archaeological Clubs, Inc. (FMDAC).
October, 2016 – White’s Electronics has licensed a custom version of Metal Detecting for Beginners: 101 Things I Wish I’d Known When I Started. The book can be purchased directly from White’s at their website—either alone or in one of several equipment packages—and from retailers wherever White’s metal detectors are sold.
April 15, 2016 – Author M.A. Shafer attended the Digging In PA group hunt in Warminster, Pennsylvania, where she launched her new QuickStart Guide, Metal Detecting for Beginners: 101 Things I Wish I’d Known When I Started. The book was well-received both by metal detectorists themselves and by American Digger magazine, whose publisher, Butch Holcombe, shared lunch with Ms. Shafer and Mark Schuessler, president of the Federation of Metal Detector & Archaeological Clubs, Inc. (FMDAC).
